Internet of Things has become more and more popular over the last decade. It has taken everything under its cloud and is now used to define all the smart technologies that we have around ourselves ranging from smart phones to the smart houses. Everything comes under the flag of Internet of Things (IoT).
If it is being said that IoT is the future of this world there is nothing wrong in that. We are surrounded by smart devices and smart technologies and technology is still developing to become even smarter. A few years back personal computers and internet changed the world into the what we live in today and soon Internet of Things is going to give this world another shape and it is the future of this world.
How? Let me explain it.
  1. You will be surrounded with smart devices
Everyday more and more smart devices keep flooding in the market. Humans are now using more smart gadgets than ever. And the number of these gadgets is believed to increase in the near future.
So soon these smart devices will be doing all the work for us. The home assistance Alexa or Google Home have been huge successes and have taken over much of home tasks. Similarly, the Samsung Smart refrigerator lets you manage your groceries by giving you an inside view of your refrigerator on your smartphone and you can see what groceries you are out of and what do you need to buy.
So, it is being expected that soon we will be completely surrounded by such smart devices which does give a different shape to the future of humankind.
  1. Cloud computing will become the core of every application
In the modern world, man needs to be connected with everything, everywhere. And this can only be done through cloud computing. Cloud computing has already become the hot topic in the field of technology and it is rapidly growing. In the near future it will become the core point of every computing, every programming and every application. So, to stay connected with the world, you will have to be in the cloud. Internet of Things is based on cloud computing, it doesn’t work without that. So very soon IoT is going to evolve as the core of technology and it is going to change the world.
  1. We will have better medical facilities
Internet of Things is affecting every field, may it be science and technology, agriculture, education or medicine. It is a part of every field. And in every field, it has some really good impacts. It is also expected to bring some good changes in healthcare and make it better.
It has already made data collection and data analysis easier for doctors. It has also reduced the work of nurses through automatic notifications of the patient leaving the bed. With advanced technologies more smart devices are being developed which make disease diagnosis and treatment a lot easier and reduces the work of nurses. On some level, this does raise the question of increases unemployment due to machines replacing the humans, but that is another argument. As far as the technology is concerned it is becoming smarter everyday and has no plans of stopping anytime soon.
  1. This world is going to be smarter!
Well yes, from the toothbrush in the morning to the bed that you sleep in the night, everything is going to be smart. Everything will be connected to the cloud. Your smart tooth brush will send a report to your dentist about any dental issues that you might be developing. Your refrigerator will give you a list of things that you need to buy, your car will drive you to your office automatically. Everything is going to be smart and this world is going to be smarter.
So yes, IoT is the future of this world. We are going to be living in a different kind of world. We just need to keep a check that in this smart and connected world we do not lose contact with the people around us who are actually there and not just online.
